Driver health is becoming one of the most important issues facing the road transport sector.

The ageing driver workforce, limited access to suitable roadside facilities, and the sedentary nature of driving can place significant pressure on both physical and mental health. Research from Loughborough University shows that HGV drivers are almost three times more likely to be living with obesity than people in other occupations, alongside higher rates of conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and sleep disorders.

This new flagship event brings together over 150 industry leaders, Government, health experts and transport professionals to explore what can be done to improve driver health and wellbeing and showcase practical solutions that can make a real difference.

Speakers include leading executives from Tesco, GXO, Whistl and Evri who will share best practice.

If you are involved in road transport, fleet management, occupational health, road safety, Driver Health Day is an opportunity to share solutions and help shape a healthier future for the UK’s professional driving workforce.
